All of a sudden it seems everyone is involved in a sexual harassment/assault scandal. Once one woman came forward in Hollywood several woman and men came forward with their own stories. The same can be said in the US Government although so far no men have come forward (it’s only a matter of time). Maybe this is the chance to open the eyes of the many woman who have been assaulted to come forward in any industry.
There have been some outlandish comments and articles on social media about these allegations. For the most part many don’t believe these woman some even said they provoked or asked for it. Many wonder why people wait so long to come forward after sexual assault. This is part of the reason for this. There are sick people out there that think woman ask for this behavior. No one wants to be assaulted by someone in power. There have been no cases where these people asked to be harassed by some rich asshole.
When it comes to Hollywood the main defense of these predators was that these actors and actresses asked for it. I also read some comments saying these woman slept with these guys to get in the movie and now regret it. Honestly any man that needs to use their power to get someone in bed is a scumbag all the way. The people that defend these sick bastards are just as pathetic.
The political aspect of these assault allegations are far worse. You have on one side of the fence Roy Moore, a former judge who was removed from the bench in 2003 running for Senate. He has been accused of sexually assaulting children aged 14-16. The man was even banned from a mall. His colleagues admitted to this behavior. Roy himself said he asked the parents of the 14-16 year old girls if he could date their children. Moore was 30 years old at the time. Republicans on social media have been so defensive of this scumbag it’s pretty disturbing.
On the other side of the fence you have Al Franken a Democrat accused of grabbing and forcibly kissing a none contributor to Sean Hannity’s Fox News show. The pair were on a USO tour and there is a picture that looks like it was taken out of content, you can judge for yourself. Franken’s response to the allegations, “I certainly don’t remember the rehearsal for the skit in the same way, but I send my sincerest apologies to Leeann.” The accuser in this case accepted the apology. Sexual harassment and assault are not limited to a certain political party, there are scum on both sides. In fact the two party system should be eradicated.
Sexual assault and harassment is serious and it happens probably more than anyone knows. It’s not limited to Hollywood and Washington, it happens all the time. The more woman that come forward the less its believed. This is why woman and men wait so long, some never come forward at all. Woman do not come forward to get their 15 minutes, that’s for sure. Who would want to be looked at in the way you look at a victim or a liar, because frankly it’s rarely believed.
The lack of morals and common decency in the United States is definitely lacking. There are many fake people out there claiming to be good Christians while showing us how extremely ungodly they really are. The leader of our country Donald Trump has been accused by 12 woman of sexual assault. There is audio tape of him talking about forcefully grabbing woman and kissing them not to mention their pussies. This is like living a nightmare where pussy grabbers are given the presidency and woman are scorned for speaking the truth.
This is a sad day in US history. Donald Trump is the President-Elect of the United States. Something that people joked about two years ago has become a reality today. Many Americans are celebrating, but more are upset. Voting is very important not only to our country as a whole but to yourself as individuals. Several people voted third party and in turn gave Donald Trump your vote.
It was not the easiest thing to watch in fact I just turned off the television and midnight, I couldn’t take the loss. I woke up at 3am checked the polls and my worst fear came true at that moment. From the very beginning, everyone thought it was laughable that Trump could make it as far as he did. The memes and rhetoric were mere jokes this joke has now become a reality.
Most did not want to see either of the main candidates as their commander and chief. I did not either, what I did going to the voting booth was take the lesser of two evils. As past history dictates voting 3rd party gives the vote away. I did not want to see that happening. While Hillary Clinton has many flaws Donald Trump has far more. If you voted 3rd party your vote was essentially for Donald Trump so do not blame anyone but yourself. Others will argue that it’s the DNC’s fault for not letting Bernie Sanders run. That is partly true, but you had a choice picking 3rd party clearly did not help anyone other than Trump.
If you chose not to vote at all because neither candidate appealed to you, I hope you’re happy with the outcome. This is beyond comprehension. Just how many people actually listened to this monster speak before casting a vote for him? The hate filled rhetoric spewing from his mouth actually appealed to you? I just can’t fathom the thinking and would love to understand it.
I taught my children to look beyond skin color, sex, and religious beliefs. This goes to show that not everyone parents the same way. My girls were just as disgusted as I was upon hearing the news and the oldest is 11. They understand how elections work and they watched debates they know what has been said. I was even asked if their friends would have to go back to Mexico because he became President. It’s hard being a parent in this day and age. It’s even tougher to watch the world crumbling around you. So much evil and hate in the world, now it’s at our doorstep. The bigots and racists are not hiding any longer they are right there on social media, on the news, in our public view for all to see. They are not ashamed. I did not know that Marty McFly came by with his time machine and brought us all back in time.
Many of my own family and friends either supported or voted for Donald Trump. I was surprised but I was not shocked in the way I should have been. I even tried to debate it out with them, but they weren’t hearing it. My own spouse, while he didn’t vote and didn’t like either candidate preferred Trump. That has to do with his change in thinking upon moving to this shit hole most call Texas. Disturbed by the news by Midnight I was going to sleep. He woke up at around this time and I told him that Donald Trump is going to be President. His response was “Get out of here”. He thought the election was fixed to get Hillary Clinton elected honestly, I thought the same thing. Although his comments infuriated me after. He thinks he is a comedian and said “Great, now pussy grabbing will be legal!” He even decided to buy a “Trump Triumphs” newspaper and put it right where I would see it as I first woke up. Needless to say, he’s sleeping on the couch tonight.
So Trump won as if that is not bad enough the Republicans have majority house and the senate. Again if you didn’t vote I would love to wring your damn neck right now. This election was important. All I can say is pray for America. I am not a religious person by any stretch of the imagination, but I will be praying. This is not the United States I know and love, I don’t know what this is. Congratulations to Trump supporters, you did it. You showed the world just how dumb we have become. Electrolytes it’s what plants crave is now a reality.
Many people believe the media is liberal controlled, this couldn’t be further from the truth. The media is corporate owned, which is the opposite of liberal. During the primary election, the corporate owned media has given Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton more of an advantage. Many things play a role here. Sure, the fact that the two candidates are loaded are another advantage. If Donald Trump was broke he’d be on the street (one of those bums you find talking to themselves) if Hillary was broke she would still be the media’s pick (based on her greedy pockets).
Every network on television, newspaper, online journals, everything you see minus PBS is corporate owned, however with enough money you can get PBS not to air something as well. When Reagan was in office he cut funding to PBS and NPR the funding for these two outlets come from mainly wealthy donors. One large donation in particular came from a very wealthy man, David Koch. Koch donated 23 million dollars to PBS. Aspecial on PBS called “Citizen’s Koch” was prepared to air on CBS. It had to do with the Koch Brothers and the political scandal in Wisconsin in 2011 and 2012. David Koch was offended by the documentary and it was taken off the schedule. Koch Bros Donate to PBS
Everything you read or see is filtered by corporations. They own us, they control everything our elections, what people believe, religious values, what we see, what we hear. This is not a conspiracy theory, it is a fact.
The only thing you can trust is what you see in today’s world. People need to be skeptical of everything, many of what you know is nonsense. Americans and the world are lied to by our government, who is owned by the corporations.
5 families run the world, Rothschild, Rockefeller, Du Pont, Morgan, and Bush. These families are the richest in the world and have been running our country for a very long time. Every one of these 5 families can buy and pay for anything.
Why would any of these families not want a President like Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump? Hillary can be bought she’s proved that time and time again. Donald Trump, claims he can not be bought, that may be the truth. If Trump can or can’t be bought is irrelevant since he’s a billionaire. Why would he help the little people or “losers” as he calls them instead of his “winning” billionaire friends? This man wants to give corporate breaks LARGE corporate breaks. He wants to cut education, cut every social program, and give breaks to corporations? Sure everyones paychecks will actually be more if Trump is elected President, according to his tax breaks, that’s if Congress votes for it. These tax cuts also at 24.5 Trillion to the debt.
The media has been running the primary election, they have been dictating everything since the very beginning. It has been Clinton Vs. Trump in the media’s eyes from the very beginning. Periodically you will see a story about another candidate running, it’s few and far between. Political news networks like MSNBC is the liberal Fox News, or at least it used to be. It is now Clinton and Trump network. The best anchor left on MSNBC Rachel Maddow has even been bought, it’s blatently clear how it became a money game. This is not the first election that has been bought by the corporation, if Bernie Sanders doesn’t either take the Primary or get into the White House it won’t change. It will only get worse from here.
Take everything you see on TV, in a magazine, on the internet, in a newspaper, and hear on the radio with a grain of salt it is all fed to you by the wealthy. There is a reason you see very few educational things on television in the world today. Think about all the garbage people watch on television, from Honey Boo Boo to the Kardashians. This is like junk food for the brain, the corporations do not want educated consumers. The wealthy want zombies to keep working like a slave and helping them gain more wealth. The country will only continue to produce more “poorly educated” people. The sheep will continue to grow and people will continue drinking the purple kool aid.
There may be nothing anyone can do at this point. These families and the corporations have been in power far longer than many many think. Politics can help this, but money corrupts most. Many people can be bought and if they can’t be bought which is rare of a politician, they may get shot. It wouldn’t be the first time. Money is the root of all evil, this is apparent when it comes to media at any level.
There is currently a court case that began in Texas resulting from former Governor Rick Perry signing the House Bill 2 (HB2) in 2013. The HB2 bans abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, requires abortion clinics to meet the same standards as hospital-style surgical centers and mandates that a doctor has admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of the facility where he or she performs abortions. As well as many other restrictions. The State Representative Jason Isaac co-signed this bill and ran unopposed in the 2016 primary election. Yipee!
The entire state of Texas has 10 abortion clinics, prior to the good Governors bill Texas had 40 clinics. For reference purposes, California has 522 clinics that perform abortions. California is the most populated state in the US followed by Texas. The current laws in place make it almost impossible for a woman to get an abortion without waiting weeks if not months for an appointment. By the time they are able to get to an appointment they may be passed the 20-week mark. This is breaking a Constitutional right. The doctors have admitted there is no way they will be able to provide abortions to as many women that seek them.
Since the law was enacted there has been a significant decrease in medical abortions (taking a pill). Many women prefer this to avoid a surgical procedure. Unfortunately, with the new Texas law, you need to take each pill in front of a doctor. That is 4 office visits when there are only 10 locations in the entire state. Some women are more than 300 miles away from the nearest clinic, many women who seek abortion do not have the means to travel. This is why many have abortions because they are unable to financially provide. A study is currently being conducted to get numbers on how many at home abortions are happening in Texas, it can and will happen again.
Medical abortions have dropped 70% which is a huge number. A significant increase in second-trimester abortions have been reported, since the new law was enacted. The lack of access to abortions and longer wait times are to blame for this increase. Complications can occur during an abortion as with any medical procedure or medication. There is a higher risk of complications the longer you wait to have the procedure done. The purpose the Republicans claimed they enacted these laws was to make sure abortions were done safely. Waiting to have a simple procedure done that could be done in a few minutes is not helping anyone. In fact, this bill is more costly for the woman and the providers. It makes it very inconvenient for all involved which seems to be the lawmakers agenda.
In 1973 Roe Vs. Wade made it to the Supreme Court. Roe, a single pregnant woman in Texas wanted an abortion. Wade, the Dallas County District Attorney. Roe could not afford to travel to a different state to have an abortion performed safely. The laws in Texas made it impossible for a woman to have a safe, clinical abortion with a licensed physician. Roe claimed Texas statutes were unconstitutional and she was protected by the First, Fourth, Fifth, Ninth, and Fourteenth Amendment. She appealed decisions of the district court on behalf of herself and all women in the same predicament. A doctor and a couple came forward in the claim stating similar issues. The doctor had court cases pending for performing abortions in Texas.
Texas urges that, apart from the Fourteenth Amendment, life begins at conception and is present throughout pregnancy, and that, therefore, the State has a compelling interest in protecting that life from and after conception. We need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins. When those trained in the respective disciplines of medicine, philosophy, and theology are unable to arrive at any consensus, the judiciary, at this point in the development of man’s knowledge, is not in a position to speculate as to the answer. [p160]- Justice Blackmun (delevering the opinion of the court) Roe Vs. Wade
A district court ruled that the Texas statute was indeed unconstitutional and a violation of the 9th amendment. The problem was it did nothing for abortions. It was basically a slap in the face and the reason why it was appealed to the Supreme Court. The same issues that were happening in the 1970s are again happening in the Supreme Court today, and again it is the state of Texas.
The principal thrust of appellant’s attack on the Texas statutes is that they improperly invade a right, said to be possessed by the pregnant woman, to choose to terminate her pregnancy. Appellant would discover this right in the concept of personal “liberty” embodied in the Fourteenth Amendment’s Due Process Clause; or in personal, marital, familial, and sexual privacy said to be protected by the Bill of Rights or its penumbras, see Griswold v. Connecticut,381 U.S. 479 (1965); Eisenstadt v. Baird,405 U.S. 438 (1972); id. at 460 (WHITE, J., concurring in result); or among those rights reserved to the people by the Ninth Amendment, Griswold v. Connecticut, 381 U.S. at 486 (Goldberg, J., concurring).-Justice Blackmun (delevering the opinion of the court)Roe Vs. Wade
This decision changed history for millions of women. Prior to this court case in many places in the US women were having unsafe home abortions. The court decision on Roe Vs. Wade is a long but a very interesting read. It goes into the history of abortion and shows that it has been around and available prior to Geek and Roman times. The Justice was very clear from the beginning, this case is not about feelings it is about the Constitution and the question asking are Texas laws preventing American Citizens from their right.
All this, together with our observation, supra, that, throughout the major portion of the 19th century, prevailing legal abortion practices were far freer than they are today, persuades us that the word “person,” as used in the Fourteenth Amendment, does not include the unborn…..
It should be sufficient to note briefly the wide divergence of thinking on this most sensitive and difficult question. There has always been strong support for the view that life does not begin until live’ birth. This was the belief of the Stoics.[n56]It appears to be the predominant, though not the unanimous, attitude of the Jewish faith.[n57]It may be taken to represent also the position of a large segment of the Protestant community, insofar as that can be ascertained; organized groups that have taken a formal position on the abortion issue have generally regarded abortion as a matter for the conscience of the individual and her family.[n58]As we have noted, the common law found greater significance in quickening. Physician and their scientific colleagues have regarded that event with less interest and have tended to focus either upon conception, upon live birth, or upon the interim point at which the fetus becomes “viable,” that is, potentially able to live outside the mother’s womb, albeit with artificial aid.[n59]Viability is usually placed at about seven months (28 weeks) but may occur earlier, even at 24 weeks.[n60]The Aristotelian theory of “mediate animation,” that held sway throughout the Middle Ages and the Renaissance in Europe, continued to be official Roman Catholic dogma until the 19th century, despite opposition to this “ensoulment” theory from those in the Church who would recognize the existence of life from [p161] the moment of conception.[n61]The latter is now, of course, the official belief of the Catholic Church.-Justice Blackburn (reciting the decision of the court) Roe Vs. Wade
It was decided. The Court ruled 7–2 that a right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman’s decision to have an abortion, but that this right must be balanced against the state’s two legitimate interests in regulating abortions: protecting women’s health and protecting the potentiality of human life.
When Roe Vs Wade hit the Supreme Court abortion was already legal in 18 states. The affirmation of the Supreme Court made it legal in all states. In the 1970s, the minorities suffered the most. Abortion may have been legal in many of these states, but not everyone had a way to get to places where it was legal. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that in 1972 alone, 130,000 women obtained illegal or self-induced procedures, 39 of whom died. Furthermore, from 1972 to 1974, the mortality rate due to illegal abortion for nonwhite women was 12 times that for white women.
The Casey decision said states may not place undue burdens on the constitutional right to abortion before fetal viability. Undue burdens, it said, included “unnecessary health regulations that have the purpose or effect of pres
Prior to the 19th-century, abortion was not considered a crime. The people nor the Catholic Church regarded or acknowledged life prior to birth. Today this is a huge issue, yet for thousands of years, it was never a problem. When Abortion Was A Crime
Today we are fighting this ridiculous claim again. Roe Vs. Wade disallowed many states and federal restrictions with its ruling any changes to that can be permanent trouble for women in the United States. It was fought in 1992, seems every 20 years or so someone decides women shouldn’t have free will.
This law is being fought in front of the Supreme Court yet again, Texas is the state that constantly seems to be fighting the Constitution. If the Supreme Court rules in favor of these abortion restrictions this will not only affect Texas but 11 other states that have also adopted these harsh laws and restrictions.
According to the Supreme Court ruling in 1973, every woman has the right to a safe and legal abortion. Our lawmakers have different ideas. There are only 8 Justices currently sitting on the Supreme Court. 4 of the Justices are Republicans and 4 of the Justices are Democrats. Unless they allow President Obama to appoint a Justice and a vote it may be a dead end. Justice Kennedy who is likely to be the deciding vote is trying to delay the vote as he is asking the Texas courts to do more fact finding.
The Republicans have said they won’t even consider voting or having a hearing on any nominee that President Obama chooses. Republicans are trying to change the Constitution yet again.
When someone asks me to describe a Republican politician I say “Watch a dog chase their tail in a circle” that’s what they do chase their tails going in circles until something breaks. They focus on a few insane components of legislation anything that makes life hard on your average person and they dig deep and rub it in. To add salt to the wound most of the last 97 bills that passed the house were regarding blocking other bills, war, energy companies, and homeland security.
Texas has been infringing women’s Constitutional rights for 60 years actually a lot longer, this has been going on prior to Supreme Court cases. It’s time to fight back in a bigger way. Abortion is a right of every American woman. Any laws that block an Americans rights should not be tolerated. Women need to stand up for themselves yet again. It’s like the civil rights movement never happened. Our future generations deserve to have a choice and their Constitutional rights protected. As an American, we should all do what we can. If someone was fighting for more gun control in the Supreme Court, Texas lawmakers would be quoting the Constitution. They only read part of the Constitution, it seems it was too much to read and they stopped at the Second Amendment.
If you would like to help in supporting Pro-Choice please go to the NARAL website, it is a great site you can take action by signing petitions or sign up to volunteer. It has a lot of information on the site, and it explains what being pro-choice is all about.
I grew up in a suburb about 10 minutes from Chicago called River Grove. I lived in the city of Chicago as an adult for a short time with my family. I have never been prouder of my city after watching the protestors stop a Trump rally, pretty impressive Chicago. The only problem was the violence, that is completely uncalled for. Hate makes people pretty heated and crazy. I can’t believe what’s happening. If you’re going to protest something you can’t be violent, no matter what the opposition says.
I have seen some insane comments from family, friends, and strangers. The majority of my family and friends are in Chicago or the vicinity. Some of my family and friends were praising the protestors, happy to stop the hate the Trump rallies bring. Most not condoning the violence, but happy no one was seriously injured and Trump was stopped. We do live in a free country and Donald Trump should be allowed to speak, even if a large majority of it is hate. We have that right to say what we want, that is why I’m allowed to write this today.
Trump was able to go on stage he chose not to. “I spoke with law enforcement and made [the call to cancel] in conjunction with law enforcement, and I think we made a wise decision,” Trump said in a phone interview on MSNBC. He was afraid for his safety it had nothing to do with the Chicago police department in a statement Chicago Police Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told the Associated Press that the department did not recommend Trump call off the event and said they had sufficient manpower to cover the rally. Guglielmi said that the decision to shut down the event was made “independently” by the Trump campaign.
Some of my family and a few friends support Donald Trump. The reason I’ve been given by some for supporting this insane billionaire is “he speaks the truth”. They love the fact that he is uncandid and says what he feels and what he wants. Anyone who supports Donald Trump hates President Obama. Many have said “He’s not a pussy like Obama” or “No one will fuck with us if he’s our President.” for why they support this barbarian. Some supporters are angry with the Republican Party. They look at this as a slap in the GOP’s face.

I decided to take it to social media. I contacted a Trump supporter and a Democrat to look at the differences. I asked the same basic questions. Here are the answers I received. I decided to leave both parties anonymous even though they both agreed to be public. I do not know either of these people personally.
Who will or who did you vote for in the primary election?
Trump Supporter: “Michigan already had its primary and I voted for Donald Trump.”
Democrat: “I am ………, retired professor, and I plan to vote in the Pennsylvania primary as a Democrat. I support both Senator Bernie Sanders and Secretary Hillary Clinton. Our primary is not an early one, and so I have not yet made a final ballot box choice.”
What makes your chosen candidate/party the choice for you?
“I have several reasons I will list them out. 1. I believe that there isn’t any other candidate that understands the global economy like he does. The others have ideas on it but ZERO experience in it.
2. Trump is right our current trade deals are all in favor of other countries and have created jobs in other countries and not in the US.
3. Trumps business tax plan is enticing for businesses to start investing in America again and not other countries
4. I like the fact to go along with his lower business tax plan he will also imply tariffs on good brought into this country in order to force fair and equal trade. I have been to other countries and finding something there that is American made is damn near impossible.
5. Trump is right about other countries making their currency fluctuate which causes US jobs to be outsourced to other countries. Let me give you a perfect example of this. 4 years ago a friend of mine was hired into an Automotive OEM and his job was to localize sourcing parts to be made here in the US to build the vehicles (if you check 4 years ago the currency of the other countries was more on par with the US dollar). Now he is tasked with outsourcing the parts to be made in other countries because the cost is cheaper.
6. Trump is also right about the illegals flooding our country. The illegals cost this country billions per year in services intended for American citizens. Also since they work for cheaper labor it suppresses wages from going up.”
Democrat: “I believe that only the two Democratic candidates have the moral and intellectual seriousness and good will to serve. The Republican candidates seem to me unqualified — and worse.”
Do you normally vote, and if so what party do you normally lean toward when voting?
“Yes I normally vote in elections because I want our country to be great and it can only do that if the right leadership is in place. As for which party I normally vote republican or libertarian.
I believe in holding our elected officials accountable
After all they work for us. However it seems today that both the democrats and republicans seem to treat us like we work for them”
Do you always vote for the Democratic Party?
Democrat: “Yes, starting with John F. Kennedy in 1960.”
I asked both people what they thought of the other parties “extreme” candidate.
What do you think of Bernie Sanders?
“I have a lot to post on this so I will do it in pieces. I don’t think very highly of Bernie Sanders. I think Sanders if gathering supporters by promising “free stuff” (college, healthcare, etc..). Sanders tax plan is extremely punitive in nature as the more successful you are the more his plan punishes you with higher taxes. We currently have a system like that in place now but Sanders plan is much worse and as somebody in the top tax bracket under Sanders plan I would pay another $17k a year in taxes.
Sanders is a socialist and socialism has failed in all other countries. Socialism creates a culture of laziness.
Sanders proposed business tax plan would drive even more businesses out of this country. I read his plan and then I have read some reviews on it and several analyst have said his plan would cause a -9.5% GDP. For those who though 2008 economy was bad that is nothing compared to -9.5% GDP.
Also I heard and read Sanders comments about the violence in Chicago yesterday that shut down a Trump rally. Trump isn’t to blame for that as his supporters weren’t the ones being violent until they were attacked….. That comment pushing people to continue to do the same thing at other Trump rallies made me lose all respect for Bernie.”
What do you think of Donald Trump?
Democrat: “Donald Trump, who seems to me a clever narcissist and a con man, has called up some of the worst forces in America — bigotry, hatred, violence, xenophobia, racism, homophobia. His supporters are at least as scary as he is.”
Just because I can I will disprove all of the Trump Supporters claims….
1. & 2. Trump trades with countries we shouldn’t be trading with such as China and Mexico. He has his products made by slave labor. He is not making his own products in the US why would we trust him with everything.
3. & 4. reasons why he supported Trump was the tax plan and money issue. Unfortunetly for him they’re all bad ideas according to anylasts and fact check.
5. This is the same as the other two reasons really. I think what our young supporter is talking about is the North American Free Trade Agreement and Trans-Pacific Partnership. This is what Bernie Sanders is trying to get rid of as well, but he’s called a communist for wanting to do the same thing.
You can decide for yourself who you are voting for, but spreading fear and hatred in either party is not the answer. The protests are great if they’re not violent. There has been violence at many political rallies recently and that’s just sad. If people can not discuss politics without beating the shit out of each other we’re no better than Taiwan.
There is a history of campaign reform however, it has yet to be enough.
This effort to bring about more comprehensive campaign finance reform began in 1907 when Congress passed the Tillman Act, which prohibited corporations and national banks from contributing money to Federal campaigns. The first Federal campaign disclosure legislation was a 1910 law affecting House elections only.
The Act of Congress was amended in 1974 to place legal limits on the campaign contributions. The amendment also created the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
In 2002, The Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act was fought for by Sen. John McCain and Sen. Russ Feingold. This act prohibited large contributions by wealthy individuals and corporations to national party committees, all of whose receipts were publicly disclosed. But, perversely, the ban on “soft money” left individual and corporate donors free to direct their funds to outside groups, where donations are concealed from public scrutiny.
Enthusiasts of McCain-Feingold said the law would restore trust in the political system. Some suggested the parties would “thrive” because they would be forced to rely on small donors. Critics, however, predicted it would precipitate a tectonic shift of political power away from the parties and toward outside groups, which were likely to be far more extreme and far less accountable. These critics were absolutely correct. Interests groups like the NRA and anti-abortion extremists can legally hide the amounts of money given to politicians.
Legal bribery is happening right out in the open in Washington. Political action committees and lobbying is legally bribing politicians.
PAC’s have been around since the 1940s. Lobbying began in 1830 but was not what it is today. People would stand around and wait to get a word with a politician. Occasionally they would bribe them. In the 1970s is when lobbying became what it is today.
In 2015 3.2 billion dollars was spent on lobbying politicians. The last election in 2014 1.7 billion was spent on PACs. How anyone can think this money is because the banks, corporations, drug companies, and Unions actually like this politician. Anyone could be running, they want a politician that will do what they want. These groups want certain things for their investment. These are the top companies in the country. They have business sense, they are not going to waste money. More often than not the companies will get what they desire.
Some will argue that it’s not bribery because there is no guarantee what the politician is going to do you are giving all of this money to. That is partly true, but it’s still influence which is not done by the people. This is a corporate influence. Corporations have been running the country for an extremely long time.
This is not limited to the Republican Party. Hillary Clinton has a SuperPAC as well. When President Obama ran for re-election the amount of money spent was ridiculous. With The Presidents at a whopping 964 million dollars between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama they spent a total of 2 billion dollars.
Our political system is beyond repair while donor money is rampant. Why would anyone in Washington fight for this to stop? Power and greed, it’s clear politicians want the money and doing what these interest groups want will keep that money flowing. Have you noticed you never hear politicians mention lobbyists or PACs especially if they’re getting the bulk of the money?
The only Presidential candidate that even has the plan to solve this is Bernie Sanders. I know he would like Citizens United overturned but that is not the only issue. I am hoping he goes one step further and stops any money going into Washington. The people are the only ones that should have the politicians ear. CEOs, banks, hedge fund managers, the NRA, etc. should not.
Stoping bribery will be impossible, but finding bribery to be illegal would be a definite start.
DONALD TRUMP-clown name- Soggybottommmy Crazy Pants
Trump, of course, received the first question regarding the KKK and David Duke. Trump explained to he the commentator that he was the 11th person to ask, that David Duke and the KKK he disavows. He didn’t seem to mad about the racial allegations, but it moved right along. Not another peep about it.
While Rubio was talking smack about Trump he interrupts, blurting out”lies.” They actually were for once, Rubio said Trump inherited 100 Million he inherited 1 million from his father.
“This little guy has lied so much about me.”
Cruz mentions that Trump sent money to Clintons campaigns in 2008.
Trump responds by saying, He did it for business “I have 120 deals outside of the united states which I hope to stop very soon and let my children handle it. We do many deals outside of the United States.” he also mentioned how he gives to many politicians.
Trump went on and on about the wall and said again, Mexico is paying for the wall.
“I’m the only one that beats Hillary Clinton”
“The people of Florida wouldn’t elect him dog catcher.” In regards to Rubio.
Trump called Cruz a liar a few times and says, “I’ve given my answer, lying Ted.”
When asked a question about torture of suspected terrorist families or the suspected terrorists. He said that he thinks waterboarding is fine basically, compared to what they do to Christians. The Soggybottom is cool with torture of (maybe) terrorists and their families.
“We should go for water boarding and we should go tougher.” -Trump
I have to step in here WHAT?!?!?! The Patriot act comes to mind. The government can walk in your house and drag you out and say you are a terrorist. Nothing you can do about it and nothing your family can do either. Obviously, it probably hasn’t happened but it can. Who is to say the government doesn’t already do that and claim people are a threat. Well enough of the conspiracy theories, back to these animals duking it out for the Power position. Trump scares me I just want to mention that. He looks like he could be related to the devil…just saying.
MARCO RUBIO-clown name-Marco Polo Cholo
Right at the very beginning, Rubio attacks Trump Rubio says,
“He’s done well in these elections there is no doubt, the numbers are there. The numbers also say, 2/3 of the people that have cast a vote in Republican Primary Caucus have voted against you. They do not want you to be our nominee. The Conservative delegates have voted against you, and the reason why is because we are not going to turn over the Conservative movement of the party of Lincoln or Reagan for example to someone who’s positions are not conservative. Last week he defended Planned Parenthood for 30 seconds on the debate stage…” He went a little further digging at Trump then the rebuttal. Donald Trump states the numbers he read on CNN poll, showing Trump at 49%. Rubio interrupts and says that Trump can’t beat Hillary Clinton in a general election. They were just yelling and you couldn’t understand what was said for a good 20-30 seconds until Kelly had to intervene. Trump consistently interrupted Rubio throughout the debate.
Rubio mentioned Donald Trump making his clothes in other countries a few times.
JOHN KASICH-clown name- Jim-Bob-McSniffels
Kasich says, “People tell me I’m the only adult on the stage.” He claims he doesn’t get enough air time and he’s correct.
He wants people to know that he will bring the Democrats and Republicans together.
Honestly, not much has been said about his campaign. Many don’t really know much of his plan because they really don’t ask him many questions.
He does seem like the one I would choose if I believed Conservative hypocrisy. John thinks people need to stop suing everyone and people need to be tolerant and respect each other.
Kasich wants to go to war in Syria, Iraq, and Libia.
He may be the only rational one on the stage I concur. He said that he will win up north we’ll see.
MEYGAN KELLY-clown name-Peach PuffyPants
Meygan Kelly asked Trump if he was playing to people’s fantasies like it says in his book.
She is feisty and the only Cuntservative that can be tolerated on Fox News.
Megyn shows Trump a large amount of clips of him lying, she was worse than the other candidates when it came to ripping him a new one. Ultimately made him look like an idiot. She put on the board a link from the Court of appeals. The court compared Trump to Bernie Madoff. “…victims of con artists often sing the praises of their victimizers until the moment they realize they have been fleeced” Trump must regret pissing this woman off. Good research Kelly, need to give credit where it’s due. Trump said it was a civil case. He’ll win it’s been going on for 5 years. 1/3 of the people that signed up for Trump University was dissatisfied with the course.
Ted Cruz was purposefully left out, and Megyn took his place. He is a good bullshit artist, but you can see through it. He has shifty eyes. They didn’t give him very much time. Which was fine the man is not easily tolerated.
They screamed at each other, for quite awhile.
The moderator asked about Flint, Michigan. They didn’t really say much or answer the question. They said its state and local governments job. They won’t even visit and talk to the people. Why would they? Flint is predominantly African American.
It went as entertaining as most of the GOP debates have been with Donald Trump. The arrogance and the fact that he can not take criticism will lead to his demise.
Cruz didn’t say anything absolutely crazy at this debate, yet he definitely had that annoying factor. You know someone’s presence can absolutely annoy you. That’s Ted Cruz.
Rubio has a small shot, but it’s doubtful. He is the least extreme of the three leaders in this race. Not that Rubio is much of a leader he won one state so far. He is also the choice of the RNC. This is their golden boy and he’s doing horribly bad. That is why he won Minnesota because he’s not screaming hatred as Cruz and Trump do. He’s starting to though. Real Conservatives that vote all the time mainly want Rubio, that is because they don’t even know who Kasich is, although he talks about going to war.
The Conservatives love pain, so war is something they welcome usually. Do Americans want to go to war? I don’t, but I believe war is stupid especially when it’s over religion. Isis isn’t in one place, they are all over. We can’t blow 3 countries to hell. If you really want to do that drop a bomb. Don’t get our people killed. I don’t think the UN will appreciate that much though.
This circus was brought to you by the Republican Debate.
It has been brought to my attention that former President Bill Clinton committed voter fraud yesterday in Massachusettes. While doing some research on the subject, it looks as if not only was voter fraud committed in Massachusettes, but also in Iowa. Although, Bill was not a part of this particular fraud in Iowa. I decided to do some investigating on my own. What I found may or may not surprise you.
Bill Clinton stood outside of a polling facility shaking hands, signing, and taking pictures. He gave a speech with a voice amplifier outside of a polling facility. His very appearance kept voters out of the polling facility for hours. Causing some voters to give up and leave. As a former President, Bill should know what the election laws are. They are not even allowed to put signs within 150 feet of a polling facility. Why would he think it was ok to give a speech at a polling location in front of the door? Not only did Bill do this, but the Mayor of New Bedford helped him. This is the poorest community in the state. Why do you think Bill would block voters in a poor community?
Secretary of State William F. Galvin told the New York Times that he had to remind election workers that “even a president can’t go inside and work a polling place.”
“He can go in, but he can’t approach voters,” Galvin said. “We just took the extra precaution of telling them because this is not a usual occurrence. You don’t usually get a president doing this.”
Slick Willy, his nickname comes into play here. There is footage as well as pictures of Former President Bill Clinton walking into polling facilities and speaking with people. Kissing old people, babies, and signing things for people. This is highly illegal, he is not allowed to wonder into polling stations and campaign for his wife. He knows these laws, he was the President. This is highly illegal and the Clinton campaign should be fined. The major media stations will not broadcast this. They seem to be paid by the Clinton Campaign, which makes a lot of sense she is leading in campaign money. The funds are there to spare. The media (other than Fox News) makes Hillary look good. They do not even report on the truth. Everything from the top to the bottom of the Clinton campaign is lies. Hillary has changed her mind so many times, it will make your head spin. When she gives a speech now, she sounds like Bernie Sanders. How convenient, prior to this campaign Hillary was more moderate than anything. She admits that in an interview, all of a sudden she’s a progressive liberal?
In Iowa, Bill did not show up to the polling stations that I know of however, there are several cases of voter fraud. One voter count, I was appalled by. It was done by a head count, they never did the computerized polls like they do everywhere else in the country. If Iowa is so important, why wouldn’t they have the best technology available? They count heads, it’s absolutely ridiculous!
The people need to know what they’re getting into with a Clinton vote. As far as I’m concerned after researching this and seeing so much more. I am convinced without a doubt that the Clinton campaign committed voter fraud yesterday to win Massachusetts. It was so close that Bill’s little stunt most likely cost Bernie Sanders the win in that state. I truly believe that if anyone but Bernie wins this election we are in big trouble. I’m starting to re-think the whole #VoteBlueNoMatterWho this broad scares me.
Super Tuesday voting is over and the votes are being counted. It’s funny how the delegates make the election. Only 1% of the votes are counted yet, candidates win. Why do we bother to vote? I’m starting to feel the way many Americans feel.
Alabama Trump Clinton
Alaska Cruz No Primary Today
Arkansas Trump Clinton
Colorado No Primary Sanders
Georgia Trump Clinton
Massachusetts Trump Clinton
Minnesota Rubio Sanders
Oklahoma Cruz Sanders
Tennessee Trump Clinton
Texas Cruz Clinton
Vermont Trump Sanders
Virginia Trump Clinton
The delegate count as of 7:00 AM 3/2/16
Democrats need 2,383
Republicans need 1,237
Remember, even if the candidates do well on Super Tuesday it does not mean they will do well throughout the election. The general election is not until November candidates have plenty of time to get votes. Congrats to everyone! Remember, #votebluenomatterwho
Results will be updated as the votes are calculated.
